The idea of play generally is that it is a social activity. Play equipment should reflect this. Sometimes it is difficult to get a piece of equipment which fulfils the needs of different children - especially children with different physical abilities.
Our roundabout is great because not only does it allow children using wheelchairs to enjoy that slight dizzy-making experience which accompanies a spin on the roundabout, it also, and just as importantly, enables them to experience it at the same time, on the same piece of equipment, for the same duration as their physically more able peers - something which is at the heart of all that the Playground stands for - play must be about enabling all children to play
together.
